How to Get Pet Hair Out of Bedding

Pet owners are being offered advice on how to get pet hair out of their bedding after sleeping with their furry friends.

Almost half of dog owners sleep with their pets in the bed whether that be for comfort, to help reduce stress or to help them feel safe.

However, pet hairs are known to cling to bedding and other furniture and can be a pain to remove. So, in this article, we give you six ways to get pet hair out of your bedding:

How to Remove Pet Hair from Bedding

1. Lint roller

Using a lint roller is the easiest way to remove pet hair on your bedding. If your pet sleeps with you every night try to do this every couple of days. Those who only sleep with their pet every now and again can lint roll the bedding the following day.

2. Vacuum

If you’re trying to remove pet hair from your mattress then using the vacuum is a great solution. This method may not work as well on loose fabric such as bedding but it should still pick up the majority of the hairs.

3. Tumble dryer

Running your bedding in the tumble dryer for ten minutes can help get rid of pet hair. Just remember to clean the filter out afterwards.

4. Anti-static spray

Anti-static sprays prevent fibres and other particles from sticking to fabrics. You can spray this on your bedding before your pet joins you to prevent their hair from clinging to your sheets. This should make the cleanup process easier.

5. Combine the methods

If you’re having trouble vacuuming up the pet hairs, spray some of your anti-static spray onto the sheets. This can help lift the hair fibres, making them much easier to collect.

6. Specialist hair removal tools

You can also purchase tools specifically made for pet hair removal online. These are designed to help remove fibres off of sofas, bedding, carpets and clothing
